Renovator Ministry News:

Fourth Quarter Board Meeting

The Renovator Ministry board met before Christmas in the Chicagoland area and voted to sponsor yearly a person between the ages of 14-25 on a mission trip to a third world country. The rationale for such as venture stemmed from a consensus of the board that in their experience of observing young persons on missions trips, upon their return, they have seen a desire to truly live a radical transformed Christlike life upon their return. In following up on a small sample of these young people the desire actually turned into reality. A committee from the board was appointed to develop the screening and selection procedure to be used. It is hoped our first award would be completed by summer of 2008 with yearly awards going forward. Anyone fitting the age requirement above is encouraged to apply for the award by contacting Renovator Ministries at georgea@renovatorministries.org.

Renovator Ministries Completes Fall Schedule at Fellowship of Faith

For the past six months ending in early December The Fellowship of Faith congregation located in McHenry, IL  adopted for their fall schedule a DEEP RED program consisting of leadership training June through August using the Revolution of Character text by Willard and Simpson. Then a 10 week sermon series entitled DEEP RED, from the entire Sermon on the Mount, was given each Sunday with the formation of DEEP RED small groups. These small groups were used to enhance and give direct missional application to the Sunday message. In addition the pastor began mobilizing the congregation out of the building to minister directly as Christ would to the homeless, the poor, and the marginalized of our area. The Deep Red groups continue through the winter and the missional experiences are increasing for this congregation.
